Ebay selling tips

Top tips for selling on Ebay

Online shopping has grown in popularity in the past few years and online shopping retails are predicted to grow steadily to $370 billion in 2017, up from $231 billion in 2012. Ebay is the most user friendly website I have used to sell my old and unwanted items but it's important to making your items sellable, even if it is a grotty pair of shoes. Here i'll show you what to do and what NOT to do when listing an item or product. It's unbelievable how much of a difference such minor details make.

THE PHOTO

Good first impressions are vitally important. It only takes a quick glance at a picture for someone to continue scrolling past your item.
So, make it as clear as possible!!!!
Wait for a clear day and make sure the room is well lit with daylight instead of artificial light as this will make it look more appealing and professional.
It is essential that the picture isn't blurry and the background it not untidy/disorganised.
Let's put it into perspective, would you buy an item, eg a jacket, that has been taken in an dark room where you can see rubbish in the background?? I certainly wouldn't.
Also, remember, the more pictures the better! Customers want to know every tiny detail about the product before buying; the more they know, the more they are likely to bid or click the 'buy it now' button.

Ebay is about quality AND quantity.

Bad vs Good

THE TITLE

Include as much information as possible.
Instead of keeping it simple, write as many details as you can fit so it is more likely to pop up in searches and consequently get more views.
Include things like size, colour, style, brand, shape, gender, serial number, condition etc. (these are only a few examples).

Good vs Bad

BE HONEST

There is honestly no point in lying to make your item sound better than it really is. The only outcome is that you will receive bad reviews when the customers parcel arrives and it's not the same as the description or images. Lower % feedback means people are less likely to buy from you in the future.

THE DESCRIPTION

Make it clear and easy to follow/understand.
Include as much information as possible.
Say things like: 'from a smoke-free household' to make it sound more appealing.
Remember to be honest.
If you remember what the original price of your item was then mention that so customers can see the discount you've put up (if you have lowered the price)

Good vs Bad

THE PRICE

Research your product to see your competitor's pricing. There is no point listing your item for £20 when it sells for £10.
On Ebay you have 4 options:
Auction
Buy It Now
Best offer
Auction or Buy It Now option.

Quite often people auction so start prices low and if it is a popular item eg an iphone, then bids will increase. An item can go from a starting price of £0.99 to £10+ easily, depending on how much interest there is.

I usually use buy it now if it is an expensive product or if it is for teenagers.

Best offer allows room for negotiation which is sometimes useful. You can reject or accept the customers offer.

TIMING

People are most likely to shop in the evenings/nights, so timing is key. Put up your items so that their listing time will end either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday later on in the day. Be strategic!

Best of luck to everyone!

The Liebster Award Nomination

This award is a fantastic way for people like myself to climb up the blogging ladder and get their name heard. I have been nominated by the lovely and not to mention gorgeous Emily Boulton (emerge-blog.weebly.com), who is an aspiring menswear stylist and I'm certain that she will have great success in this field!

Here are the 11 questions that she asked that I will now answer:

1) Where would you like to be in 5 years time?
In five years time I will have finished my course at University. I am still uncertain which career path I will merge myself into, I like to keep my options open for as long as possible!

2) Who is your favourite fashion designer?
I have two.
Firstly MOSCHINO because it is Italian which is my heritage and it is also lively, vibrant and a bit of fun! There catwalks are always intriguing and the novelty aspect of the brand is something that breaks up this intense and serious industry of fashion.
Secondly, I adore ALEXANDER WANG and one day I will own one of his creations because they are quite frankly a work of art.

3) Have you ever cried over a film/TV program, if so which one and why?

The first time that I watched Forest Gump I was in tears, as well as the notebook.

4) Who is your favourite fashion model?

Georgia May Jagger has raw and natural beauty that sets her apart from the other

5) Who is your favourite blogger?
My favourite blogger is Yanin Namasonthi (or pretty sickly) at www.idressmyself.blogspot.com

6) Out of everything you've bought this year, what have you worn the most?

I have undoubtedly worn my River Island Textured blazer coat with Fur collar. It goes well with most items I own and the detachable collar means that you can change its style in seconds.

7) What perfume do you wear?
I wear Daisy by Marc Jacobs

8) Who is your favourite artist/band?

I don't one but my favourite genre would have to be rap, many may find that surprising

9) Who is your style crush?
Yanin Namasonthi at www.idressmyself.blogspot.com

(and Kylie Jenner)

10) For upcoming bloggers like ourselves, what is your best piece of fashion advice?

Stick at what you are doing, be persistent.

11) Do you have a favourite quote that you like to live your life by? If so, what is it?

Leave something before it gets ruined.

My 10 facts:
- I am half Italian, my mum moved to England almost 25 years ago
- I am a small 5ft3
- I work as a waitress and kitchen assistant in my local pub
- I am 18

- I love all the Kardashian Family
-I hate baths
-Black, white and grey are my favourite colours to wear
-I live near Manchester in England but I have a southern twang in my accent

I nominate:

Zara

ZARA

Zara's quick, fast pace response to the ever changing trends of today is the reason why most of us adore it. It's unique silhouettes and feminine styles with a masculine edge make it one of the most desirable high street brands at the moment. Zara has its way of making women feel like they are wearing something that costs 10x more that what it actually does. It now seems that owning an item from this label is a necessity in every wardrobe, certainly mine anyway.

Choies Wishlist

Choies is a site I have been frequently revisiting over the past month or so. It is an online store that sells clothes, shoes and accessories for incredible prices and in a wide range of sizes and styles. For me, one of the best aspects of this site is that it sells dupes of specific items from current designers and popular highstreet stores such as Zara!
